As a future teacher I would love to incorporate project based learning into my classroom. One lesson I’ve seen floating around is the creation of a classroom garden to use as a science experiment. Observing plants grow and making hypotheses about what will happen with to much sun and water or not enough food, to show how the environment has a major impact on plant growth.

Embedded above is a digital story recalling Gregor Mendel or the Father of Modern Genetics, and I would use something like this to help bring the idea of observation to life before our lesson. Also to show the impact of recording observations and how we too can participate in the act of inquiry.
